What’s The Problem?

It is hard to believe but slavery today is at epidemic proportions. There are 35.8 million people enslaved around the world right now. That’s more than at any other time in human history. These are real slaves by the harshest definitions: people forced to work under threat of violence, without pay and unable to escape. They are trapped in brothels, factories, mines, farm fields, and restaurants. More than half are women and children. Despite real progress, slavery often remains hidden and on the margins of public concern. That’s the bad news. The good news is there’s a solution, and we’re a part of it.

Why We’re Here

We created VOICES4FREEDOM Foundation because we refuse to keep silent in a world where slavery still exists. More importantly, we believe the time is right to kick slavery to the curb once and for all (stay tuned and we’ll tell you why!) V4F is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping abolish slavery in our lifetime. We’re leveraging education, media and entertainment to raise awareness about slavery. But awareness is not enough. Each of our programs increases direct funding to prevent slavery and partners with front-line activists who are bringing slaves to freedom while attacking the systems that allow slavery to exist.

What We’re Doing

VOICES4FREEDOM is helping people to freedom. We are creating greater awareness, raising lots of money, and giving back to individuals and organizations addressing this urgent issue with the following programs:

SCHOOLS4FREEDOM: an innovative transitional school model educating child slaves and in the process freeing entire villages from generations of slavery.

ENSLAVED: an interactive, immersive, multi-media art exhibition documenting the lives of slaves and celebrating the freedom they never dreamed possible.

THE FREEDOM PRIZES: an international award ceremony honoring heroes of the anti-slavery movement

TELEVISION: we are developing a series of original programs for television and web distribution. The Freedom Prizes are geared to a internationally televised audience and to stream live on the web. In addition we are creating documentary series that t will showcase those who have been former slaves who are now working to bring others to sustainable and even joyful freedom. Because of our work in both Television and the anti-slavery world we have skills, the trust of former slaves and the unique access to stories no one has ever told.
